I am Ali. I am a software developer passionate about solving complex problems and creating real value.
In this blog, I express my ideas on a broad range of topics, including technology, growth of knowledge, and (philosophical) optimism. The only unifying theme is that I find these ideas interesting and/or useful. I try not to put myself in categories and am always looking to understand things deeply from first principles.
My worldview has been heavily influenced by the Deutschian-Popperian philosophy, as laid out in the book The Beginning of Infinity.
Professionally, I chose to focus on software because I love the intellectual challenge that it provides and the culture of innovation, growth, and progress. There is a large amount of value that is being created here and it's an honor to be a part of it.
As sophisticated as this technology is, I believe that computers can be understood. I also believe that mastery isn't about using the trendiest technologies, but about understanding their purpose to unleash their full potential.
